Brake Pad Molds and Backing Plate Dies

Tooling determines model development speed, dimensional stability and production efficiency.

Two tooling directions

Brake pad factories may need both brake pad pressing molds for friction material forming and backing plate stamping dies for steel back production.

Brake pad pressing molds

Pressing molds require accurate cavity dimensions, stable backing plate positioning, proper venting, easy demolding and compatibility with the customer press.

Backing plate stamping dies

Stamping dies control profile, holes, slots, ears and retention features. Progressive dies can improve efficiency for mass production.

How tooling projects start

A tooling project usually starts from WVA, FMSI, OE reference, drawing or physical sample, followed by design confirmation, trial sample and adjustment.

What to send before quotation

Send drawings, samples, WVA/FMSI/OE references, target product photos, required cavity number, press information and expected production volume.
