How to Request a Quotation for Brake Pad Backing Plates, Shims and Truck/Bus Repair Kits

For brake pad factories, importers and commercial-vehicle parts distributors, a clear quotation request helps suppliers check models faster and reduces mistakes before sample or bulk order discussion.

When buyers ask for brake pad components, the fastest quotation usually comes from a complete technical reference instead of only a product name. The information below helps our team confirm fitment, tooling status, sample requirements and production route.

Main product order: backing plates first, anti-noise shims second, truck/bus repair kits such as WVA29087 third, and molds or backing plate dies fourth.

1. For brake pad backing plates / steel backs

Backing plates are the main skeleton of a brake pad. Small differences in profile, ears, slots, hole position, thickness or dimensional consistency may affect brake pad production and caliper fitment.

  • Send FMSI, WVA, OE, GDB/FDB or common reference number if available.
  • Attach a drawing, sample photo or existing backing plate photo from both sides.
  • Confirm material and thickness requirement, or state that thickness should follow the sample/drawing.
  • If the project has a strict requirement, mention dimensional tolerance and surface requirements when required.
  • Tell us whether the part is for aftermarket production, OEM-related supply, sample development or replacement of an existing supplier.

2. For anti-noise shims

For shims, buyers often need model matching and structure confirmation. Fuxin Brake can support full model range supply and new shim tooling when the required model is not available.

  • Send the brake pad backing plate reference, FMSI/WVA/OE number or shim sample photo.
  • Confirm the shim structure: single steel, rubber-coated, multi-layer, adhesive-backed or other design.
  • Share thickness, coating, adhesive and temperature requirements if your market has special NVH needs.
  • If you already buy backing plates from Fuxin, tell us the matching backing plate reference so we can check shim compatibility.

3. For truck and bus brake repair kits

Commercial-vehicle repair kits include springs, clips, pins, guide plates and related fitting parts. For this product line, WVA29087 is an important reference example, but buyers can also send OE/WVA numbers or kit content photos for checking.

  • Send WVA, OE, caliper reference or application information such as Mercedes, MAN, Scania, Volvo, BPW or SAF.
  • Attach a kit layout photo showing all springs, clips, pins and plates.
  • Confirm whether the kit is for one axle, one caliper, one wheel set or a customer-specific packing unit.
  • State surface treatment requirements such as zinc plating, zinc-nickel, Dacromet/Geomet or stainless steel where applicable.

4. For brake pad molds and backing plate dies

Tooling projects need more engineering information than standard component orders. Fuxin can discuss brake pad pressing molds and backing plate stamping dies based on WVA, FMSI, OE reference, sample or drawing.

  • Send target brake pad model, backing plate drawing or sample.
  • Confirm press type, cavity quantity, production volume expectation and maintenance requirement.
  • For backing plate stamping dies, tell us whether progressive die, blanking die, punching die or development support is required.
