Brake pad shims are small components, but they can create big production and warranty problems when the outline, holes, adhesive layer or matching backing plate is wrong. 1. Check whether the shim supplier understands backing plate matching

A shim cannot be reviewed in isolation. Its outline, hole position, clip area, ear clearance and adhesive zone should match the selected backing plate and brake pad design. When buyers send only a pad number, the supplier may need extra confirmation before giving a reliable quotation.
